In the beginning . . .
The Solitude Society was born out of my obsession with nature, for finding beauty in ordinary things, for looking deeper. For me the natural world is absolutely humming with extraordinary beauty, and I feel compelled to capture that in my work. There's something about the transience of nature and the fleeting seasons that makes me really want to pay attention. For me, attention, is just another word for love.
On a more formal note, I studied Fine Art Photography in Sydney about 20 years ago and have been pottering around with my camera ever since. While I grew up all over the world, I am actually a New Zealander and live now in the beautiful South Island. It was always a dream of mine to return home to this place where even the mountains seem to be alive. I secretly believe they are.
Thank you for visiting. I hope you find something here that reminds you that the world is still full of beautiful treasures, one of which is you.

Be rocked and riveted by the 'ordinary'."
